Being able to combine his love of sports and writing has been a dream come true and allows him to still spend time around various sporting events. When he's not out and about, Tyson enjoys spending time with his family and teaching his son Keenan how to play all kinds of different sports.

He worked as a sportswriter for several daily papers in the U.S. before relocating to Vancouver Island with his family in 2006. He covers the mid-Island’s vibrant arts community and other local events.

Steve Weldon returns to The NEWS as Sales Representative. Steve held the positions of Sales Representative and Sales Manager in the 16 years he worked for The NEWS. Steve comes from the position of Business Development Manager with Viviti Technologies Inc. in Parksville. When he is not working, you are likely to find Steve mowing his endless lawn or taking his evening walk somewhere in our beautiful area.

Peggy has worked in a production environment since the the early '70s, starting with a jazz magazine in Toronto. Moving to British Columbia in 1977, she worked for the Kelowna Capital News for many years, finally settling on Vancouver Island and working for the News since 2002. She enjoys gardening, getting serious about the Slow Food movement, and spending time with her spouse and their three cats.

Lori is familiar with small business as she is the former owner and operator of Qualicum Window Coverings. Most days you'll see Lori around town, or find her with her family at track meets and volleyball tournaments.
