RDN wins award for Zero Waste
The Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) has won an award for its Zero Waste program from the Federation of Canadian Municipalities’ (FCM) 2011 Sustainable Communities Awards.
The program recognizes municipal environmental projects across Canada that demonstrate excellence in environmental responsibility. The RDN won in the waste category, nine other categories included things like building, energy and planning.
The awards were announced at a reception and awards ceremony during FCM’s Sustainable Communities Conference and Trade Show in Victoria last week.
