Dianna Rivard, Chair of the Board of Directors of the Qualicum Beach Chamber of Commerce, announced Monday the appointment of Peter Doukakis as the President and CEO of the chamber effective May 1, 2011.

“We are pleased to have someone taking over the helm with the experience Peter brings” said Rivard.  “He was Executive Director of the Parksville and District Chamber of Commerce for three years followed by a six month contract position with the Vancouver Police Board.

“His consulting work in strategic planning, business planning and non-profit governance will be of real value to the chamber,” she added.

Doukakis replaces current CEO Judi Ainsworth who has been with the chamber since January 2005.
