Local man says merger will lead to a higher level of service
One of the Benchmark Security employees now carrying Price’s Alarms identification is Parksville resident John Bishop.
He has been the face of Benchmark ever since he joined the company back in 2006.
Bishop said the merger will provide an even higher level of service for Benchmark’s customers.
“Price’s has a huge resource base. They have their own monitoring station and a technical specialist in every discipline and they support the industry so you have got the merger of two really strong local companies coming together and now acting as one.”
Bishop who is also the vice president of District 69 Citizens on Patrol (COPS) agreed the best crime prevention is to know your neighbours but unfortunately a lot of people don’t so that is why a home security system is effective not only in preventing theft, but providing fire and flood protection.
The mandate of COPS is to provide extra eyes and ears for the Oceanside Detachment of the RCMP.
Volunteers patrol designated areas in their own cars and report suspicious activity.
Bishop can often be found leaving little tickets on the windshields of area motorists who have left valuables in their vehicles visible.
He advises everyone that when there is something in a car that looks like it is worth something thieves, will want to steal it and they will smash a window if that’s what it takes to get in your car.
