For self-described soul sisters Rena Weme, life coach and owner of Qualicum’s BelleFemme Boutique, and Diana Reyers, authenticity coach of Daringly Mindful and creator of Dare To Share, it was divine timing and positive intention that rolled the dice into a world of self-love and a thirst for women’s empowerment.

“When I built the boutique, my vision was to connect women and create a safe place for them to feel beautiful and supported,” said Weme.

“I knew that I wanted something deeper even outside of the boutique. I wanted something more.”

So was born Dare To Love — a black-tie gala at the Qualicum Beach Inn on Feb. 4.

“Five dollars of every ticket is going to Haven House,” said Weme.

“Yes, it is a high-class event that will be done extremely well, for women to come and dress up, to get pampered and be exquisitely cared for,” Weme said.

“But I am saying it’s more of a movement, because my heart behind it is to see that connection and have woman feel supported and connected to their purpose,” she said.

“A lot of times we get busy and we stop our desires. We either shut them off or we’re just into duty mode. You can’t stop dreaming and you cannot stop feeling.”

For Weme, the desire to inspire percolated long before Reyers moved to Qualicum Beach. However, it was Reyers settling into the community that lit Weme’s dream for Dare To Love on fire.

“I moved here four months ago and of course the number one thing you do is find a doctor and then you find a hair stylist,” Reyers said with a laugh.

While familiarizing herself with Qualicum’s local shops, Reyers said that something drew her into BelleFemme.

“There was an energy,” said Reyers. “We were connected right away as souls. It was about a connection and a friendship.”

As the two began to chat, Weme enlightened her reverie for woman’s empowerment. Reyers shared her Dare To Share story-telling movement that she created while living in Ontario and Kelowna — and thus the inspirational collaboration bridged together Dare to Share and Dare To Love.

“We don’t really want to know what you do, we want to know who you are,” said both Weme and Reyers, touching on the movement of Dare to Love’s storytelling stance of empowerment and inspiration.

“What we want to do is connect with you as a person,” said Reyers. “What is it that you yearn for? What are you passionate about? What gets you excited? For no reward, it’s just human nature.”

From 5-9 p.m. on Feb. 4, Weme and Reyers will be hosting Dare To Love’s first event — they hope it becomes annual — at the Qualicum Beach Inn (2690 Island Hwy. W)

“There are only 50  tickets,” said Weme. Tickets cost $100 each.

Expect to be greeted with Prosecco and appies in accordance with live music, inspirational speakers and a three-course plated dinner, as well as a personalized ‘love bag’ for each woman attending.

Tickets can be purchased at www.eventbrite.ca or in store at BelleFemme Boutique, at 678 Memorial Avenue in Qualicum Beach.
