Two craft shows at the Hall
The immensely popular Errington Christmas Craft Fair will fill the Hall with two shows again this year, but with more vendors than ever before.
This is the second year organizer Susanne Vigneault has added The New Vendor Show, taking place one week before The Original Show, because of the high demand of vendors wanting in as well as shoppers flooding the market.
“The fair is very popular, there are people who have been coming to this fair since it started, and people who have grown up going to this fair,” said Vigneault.
The fair has been running for over 40 years and began as a place for Errington residents to sell their crafts. It was so busy a few years ago that Vigneault had to remove a couple of tables so people could actually walk, she said.
New vendors have been asking for years if they could get in to sell their wares, but the spots were highly coveted and many of the crafters and artisans have had their spots for decades. So Vigneault created The New Show and it has now filled up with vendors. There will be 33 vendors for The New Show on December 7 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the same amount for The Original Show on December 14 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Residents can find things like tie dyed clothing (which is Vigneault’s company called Moondance Tie Dye) handcrafted jewelry made from vintage silverware, knitting, pottery, drums, quilts, baking, body creams, scarves, baby wear, herbs, fibre art, glass art, photography and much more.
There is free admission and a home-cooked lunch will be available, as well as coffee, tea and goodies. Horse and cart rides through the park will also be available by donation.
Proceeds from the vendor tables will go toward the maintenance of the Hall.
The Errington Wall Memorial Hall is located at 1390 Errington Road. For more on the Hall and its events visit www.erringtonhall.bc.ca.
