Event to feature storyteller from Ottawa

Two celebrated storytellers, one from Ottawa and the other who lives locally, will delight audiences this Friday with a performance previously done at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa.

Kathie Kompass resides in Ottawa and will be featured in this month’s Stories for the Telling at the McMillan Arts Centre (the MAC), joining Marva Blackmore.

Kompass has been a professional storyteller for over 30 years.

Blackmore lives in the area and is the vice president of the Storytellers of Canada among other storytelling organizations.

The two will present Lost Luggage: The Lighter Side of Travel, a show they presented at the National Arts Centre. The show surrounds lighthearted stories of luggage being misplaced around the world, and Kompass’ one-suitcase style as opposed to Blackmore’s fairly different approach.

Stories for the Telling will take place Jan. 24 at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $10 at the door.

For more on the McMillan Arts Centre visit or call 250-248-8185.
