Mr. Qualicum tells his story in a new book

Art Skipsey’s name is familiar to many local people.

He is a long time community builder through his volunteer and civic involvement in Qualicum Beach and the surrounding area.

He was president of the Qualicum Beach Historical & Museum Society for many years, former Mayor of Qualicum Beach, a champion of Camp Moorcroft, Boy Scout leader, and much more.

Skipsey is the featured speaker at the Feb. 4 meeting of the QB Historical & Museum Society.  The meeting is at 2 p.m. at the QB Civic Centre.

These meetings are open to the general public.

Skipsey will be introducing his book Mr. Qualicum, a name bestowed on him by the community.  The book is a compilation of Art’s memories as told to Lorne Tetarenko.

Come out and learn why Skipsey earned the highest local civic honor—Freeman of Town of Qualicum Beach.

His book is available for purchase at the Museum for $15.  Copies will be available at the meeting and Skipsey can do signings upon request.
