Revel in the softer side of life with paintings created by longtime artist Carmen Gehring during an exhibit at her home studio and gallery May 3 and 4.

Gehring has been painting for over 40 years and is known best for her captivating floral art like giant lilies or dahlias and landscapes with subtle colour tones and eye catching compositions.

Her oil paintings also consist of landscapes, still life and portraits.

Gehring’s exhibit this weekend is called Still At It—A lifetime of dancing with the brush. The exhibit will be open to the public from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Her home studio is located at 663 Foster Dr. in Parksville.
