Finding meaning through art

Sandi Lamb is drawn to both quirky, spiritual narratives and realistic ones. The Merville artist is currently filling two galleries at The Old School House Art Centre until Sept. 6 with paintings that show both interests. Her exhibition is called A Tale of Two Minds: Illustration and Exploration.

Her interest in quirky narratives has bloomed into an enigmatic surrealism with more than traces of metaphor. The other paintings take on more of an illustrative quality; slices of life which beg a storyline from the viewer.

The show is brought together by it’s common goal of finding meaning in the moment or in metaphor, said Lamb. Lamb is exhibiting at TOSH with three other artists until Sept. 6: painters Dan Gray and David Meekison and sculptor Louise Monfette.
