The Arrowsmith Agricultural Association (AAA) announced Tuesday, April 18, that (April 18) the 104th annual Coombs Fair will be held Aug. 12 and 13 this year.

In conjunction with Canada’s milestone birthday this year, the 2017 theme for the fair is Canada’s 150th anniversary of confederation, but also the 4-H members will be honouring the Year of the Rabbit.

This year, the fair will be hosting the Musical Ride Series by artist Joan Larson. The series of paintings is a tribute to the RCMP Musical Ride, celebrating Canada’s national pride and heritage.

During the fair, Larson will unveil the 24th painting in the series, Musical Ride XXIV.

In addition to the fair hosting Larson’s paintings, she will be donating a large print of her work Musical Ride XVII. The print will be raffled off during the last day of the fair. Ticket sale locations will be announced on the Coombs Fair website.

The AAA is a registered charity and non-profit society with roots back to 1913 when district farmers held the first Coombs Fall Fair to showcase local food crops and livestock.
