Father's Day music fun with marimbas
Fathers who like upbeat, African marimba music can make their way to Coombs for a free concert this Sunday at 5:30 p.m. The concert kicks off the Striking Accord project which will see six days of marimba music with outdoor concerts, workshops and a street dance in Coombs and Qualicum Beach.
The Father’s Day concert will feature Jangano Marimba, a group of 10 marimba players aged 9-13, followed by Kumbana Marimba, ages 14-21.
After the performance audience members are invited to try out the instruments, with guidance from the young musicians.
