Rosenblatt adds words to gallery’s art show
As added treat the showing of Katz’s work will be accompanied one night only with a reading from celebrated local author Joe Rosenblatt. The pairing is part of the show’s opening night reception. He’ll read from his most recently published book of essays The Lunatic Muse.
“It’s just come out,” he said. “It has to do with the romantic muse and friends that are no longer with us.”
The friends that the Governor General Award winning author and artist refers to comprise a literary who’s who of writers that includes Gwendolyn McEwan and Milton Acorn.
“The theme is poetry and madness. I’ll talk about their poetry in depth.”
Rosenblatt will be reading at the opening reception Saturday, Jan. 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the gallery at 133 McMillan St., Parksville. Accompanying artwork of his will be there until Jan. 30.
