Gospel music concert coming
The Church of the Ascension is hosting a concert by musical group A Balm in Gilead Band on Feb. 1.
Steve Sturgess leads the band that takes Gospel songs and arranges them in contemporary styles.
They play acoustic instruments like the flute, sax, guitar, upright bass and jazz drums. They are professional musicians from the Victoria musical community.
The event is Saturday Feb. 1 at 7 p.m. in the church with a reception to follow.
