Hot U.S. Bluegrass band comes to Coombs Hall

A renowned bluegrass band from California is coming to the Coombs Hall this Wednesday, May 7.

The Kathy Kallick Band’s latest album Time has been getting high praises from music critics around North America.

“The Kathy Kallick Band’s latest album, Time, is an endlessly pleasing collection that perfectly splits the difference between new and old,” wrote Jon Weisberger, with Sirius XM’s Blue Side of Town.

Kathy Kallick, on guitar and vocals, has been credited with leading bands in the tradition of West Coast bluegrass since she started her internationally acclaimed band Good Ol’ Persons in 1975. She now has 17 albums under her belt.

Kallick has won a Grammy award and two International Bluegrass Music Association awards for her work, among many other awards.

The group will be performing at 7 p.m. on May 7 at the Coombs Hall, located at the Coombs Rodeo Grounds.

Tickets are $10 at the door.
