Beachfest Summer Concert series starts July 18

A free summer concert series starts next Friday, July 18 at Parksville Beach. The Quality Foods Canadian Open Sand Sculpting Competition and Exhibition’s Summer Concert Series happens every Friday and Saturday nights from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Picnic Shelter at Community Park.

Friday, July 18 Mark Crissinger and the Bluebudzz will play original soulful recordings plus some folk rock blues. Last year Crissinger released two CD's, played 130 shows and was nominated for a Vancouver Island Music Award. He has opened for Our Lady Peace, Blue Rodeo, 54-40 and more popular groups.

On Saturday, July 19 The Bayside Big Band of Victoria will play original period scores re-creating popular multi-horn harmonic choruses and show tunes. The series runs to Aug. 16. For more information and to find out who else is performing visit www.parksvillebeachfest.ca.
