Fundraiser at TOSH for morning guy

Enjoy some afternoon jazz at the Old School House Arts Centre on Tuesday and proceeds will benefit Patrick Nicholson.

The popular morning show host on 99.9 FM The Lounge was recently diagnosed with an aggressive form of bone cancer and has taken a leave of absence from work.

Corinne James at TOSH said Nicholson has been a strong supporter of the arts centre  for years and staff and volunteers would like to help him pay for his medical costs.

“Patrick has supported us with such enthusiasm over the years and has always had a special place in his heart for the TOSH Jazz Club,” she said.

TOSH will be donating all of the proceeds from The Jazz Club on July 29 and August 5 to Nicholson, entry is by donation. The sessions run from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

The Jazz Club is usually an unadvertised get-together of two musicians and a very small number of jazz lovers, but for the next two dates there will be four musicians: Ron Hadley on piano, Rick Kilburn on bass, Jim Kilburn on guitar and Liam Hockley on clarinet.
