It was a wild ride at the Qualicum Beach School of Dance’s fundraising performance on Saturday, April 22.

Students performed a range of styles, from tap to contemporary to hip hop and ballet, with two of the school’s newest instructors, Tiffany and Jeremy Miton strutting their stuff to open the event.

Selections from the school’s upcoming Seussical the Musical performance were featured, alongside many others at Ballenas Secondary School. However the focus of the event was the Icons performance.

Icons — choreographed as a tribute to music artsits that shaped modern music like Queen, Madonna, Michael Jackson and others — will be performed by 15 of the school’s dancers in Disneyland in May.

Saturday’s preview performance was the group’s last fundraiser for the upcoming trip.
