Morgan, Lawrence join Chris Rock for "Funeral"
By Borys Kit
LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Tracy Morgan and Martin Lawrence are joining Chris Rock in a remake of the ensemble comedy "Death at a Funeral."
Also joining the cast are Loretta Devine, Ron Glass, Danny Glover, Regina Hall, James Marsden, Zoe Saldana and Columbus Short.
Neil LaBute is directing the Screen Games release in which a funeral turns into a debacle of misplaced cadavers and family secrets. When things can't get any worse, a man arrives saying he's the dead man's gay lover and threatens blackmail.
The original 2007 film was directed by Frank Oz and set in Britain.
For Morgan the deal marks a continued push into movies and building on the work he does in "30 Rock"; the actor recently signed on to star opposite Bruce Willis in the buddy action-comedy "A Couple of Cops," which Kevin Smith just signed on to direct. Lawrence last appeared in "College Road Trip."
