Oceanside RCMP is seeking the public’s help in locating 28-year-old Sheldon James Johanson on a series of outstanding warrants.

Johanson is described as five-foot-nine, 170 pounds, brown hair with blue eyes. The Comox Valley RCMP initially put out a release Oct. 23 asking for the public’s assistance in finding Johanson.

Cpl. Jesse Foreman with the Oceanside RCMP said the RCMP has confirmed Johanson is in the Oceanside detachment’s area, but police have been unable to track him down as of yet.

Comox Valley RCMP issued a warrant for Johanson for obstructing a peace officer, breach of probation and breach of recognizance. The Comox detachment cautioned in a news release that no action should be taken by the public to apprehend Johanson, but rather that police should be contacted.

“It would be great to get some public assistance in locating him and bringing him to justice,” Foreman said in an email to The NEWS.

If anyone has any information on the whereabouts of Johanson, call the Oceanside RCMP at 250-248-6111 or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
