Every time that I drive by the beachfront washroom project in Qualicum Beach, I am both amazed and disgusted.
Amazed that it has taken so long for this project already, and little sign that it will be completed soon.
Disgusted because of the portables that our citizens and our tourist visitors still have to use. Disgusted that our town council awarded a contract for the renovations without regard to the time of year for the work to be done. Disgusted over the length of time that it has taken – I was involved in project management during my working career, and I know how long it should have taken.
With the municipal elections coming up in October, maybe we can get some new blood on council, and get rid of some of the stink.
