Oceanside is made of of the municipalities of Parksville and Qualicum Beach , as well as the smaller towns and villages of Coombs, Errington, Qualicum Bay, Deep Bay, Bowser, Whiskey Creek, Hilliers, Dashwood and Nanoose Bay. It is located between Nanaimo and Courtenay, is a gateway to Port Alberni and the Island's rugged west coast, and is a destination all its own.
