Canadian Celtic duo playing Bowser house concert April 6

Canadian Celtic duo Pierre Schryer and Adam Dobres will be live at a house concert in Bowser on April 6.

Fiddler Schryer and guitarist Dobres have just released a new album called Mandorla which features an eclectic array of musical gems from across the globe, according to a news release.

The album includes traditional and contemporary tunes in various styles from far reaching places such as Ireland, Algeria, Brazil and Quebec, to name a few.

“The show will surely delight, as this duo is a tour de force of versatility, fine musicianship and technical dexterity,” the release said.

Together they represent two diverse and successful music careers laden with awards and nominations, including Junos, Canadian Folk Music Awards, Western Canadian Music Awards and Grammy Awards, according to the release.

Their first connections were in Victoria, through friends and collaborations on festival stages and recordings.

Several tours and musical projects later, the duo continues to appear at national and international festivals from the Pacific to the Atlantic and beyond.

The show starts at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 and available at Bowser Builders or via etransfer to richthom1950@gmail.com.

The location of the concert will be available once a ticket is purchased.
