Happenings in District 69 schools

Bowser Elementary

School

• Two classes sponsor a pancake breakfast on Oct. 14 to raise money for their year end activity. Anyone who can help flip pancakes, serve, or clean up call the school at 757-8593.

Errington Elementary

School

• The Errington Volunteer Fire Department visits the school Oct. 10 to give fire prevention presentations.

• Oct. 11 is photo day at Errington Elementary School.

Winchelsea Elementary

School

• The Winchelsea Parent Advisory Council runs a Norcard Fundraiser beginning this month and order forms are being sent home.

Ballenas Secondary

School

• The secondary school raised $7,000 for Tour de Rock and six students and three teachers shaved their heads to raise money.

• The BSS Parent Advisory Council meets the first Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. in the school library.

Kwalikum Secondary

School

• KSS school dance is Oct. 17 from 7 to 10 p.m., interim report cards go home Oct. 12 and the Honours Society Lunch is Oct. 12.

Parksville Elementary

School

• Chicken pox has been reported in two classes. Vaccines are available from the Public Health Unit at 248-2044.

• The Educacentre College offers French classes for parents with children enrolled in French immersion at the school. Classes begin Oct. 18 for beginners. Call 1-866-266-6613 for more information.
