Tree falls, injures driver

QUALICUM BEACH — A Qualicum Beach man is in hospital with serious injuries after a tree being cleared from a property on Howard Road Saturday, fell on his truck.

Oceanside RCMP Corporal Richard van de Pol said the tree fell on the man’s truck and he tried to get out, it pinned him inside.

Fire and ambulance crews attended the scene and were able to extricate the man, who was rushed to Nanaimo Regional General Hospital with serious but non life-threatening injuries.
