Mayne to make campaign announcement

Liberal leadership contender and former Parksville mayor Ed Mayne says he will hold a press conference at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Victoria Thursday morning to present what his campaign team is calling a “significant campaign decision.”

Campaign workers are remaining tight-lipped about what the contents of the announcement will be.

“We’re having a team meeting tonight and then we’re heading off to Victoria,” said campaign manager Paula Peterson Wednesday. “We’re getting calls from all over the province and we are giving everyone the same answer, that tomorrow morning at 9:15 a.m. we will all know what’s happening.”

The announcement comes just one day after leadership hopeful Moira Stilwell announced she is dropping out of the race to support George Abbott.
