Toy drive draws hundreds of people, toys and cash
The pile of toys is getting taller and taller.
Hundreds of people brought toys for all ages Wednesday morning, at the breakfast toy drive put on by Tigh-Na-Mara Resort and Spa Wednesday morning. The event is the resort's third annual drive to contribute to the Society of Organized Services Christmas is for Kids campaign.
The toys collected at the event are donated to the SOS' toy shop, where people in need can select presents for their children or grandchildren — helping the community have a great holiday, with dignity and respect.
Paul Drummond, general manager of Tigh-Na-Mara, says the event gets bigger and bigger. He said he expected in excess of last year's 800 people — and a lot more toys.
Renate Sutherland, executive director of the SOS, said the event is a community-builder, as it brings so many out to mingle and enjoy breakfast, all for a great cause.
The breakfast toy drive at Tigh-Na-Mara runs through to 10 a.m. on Wed., Nov. 30
