Schools open today in Parksville and Qualicum Beach

PARKSVILLE - Schools in School District 69 (Qualicum) are open today (Jan. 19) and the buses are running.

District schools were open yesterday morning and buses were running, but classes were cancelled at noon after watching the weather.

The decision whether schools will be open on any day is made by 6:30 a.m. on the day in question and forwarded to media.

For Vancouver Island University students at campuses in Nanaimo, Parksville and Cowichan, call the university directly - or watch their website (which had not been updated as of 9 a.m. this morning).
