Police net pot plants in Parksville raid
PARKSVILLE -
When police raided an outbuilding and garage at a home on Grafton Avenue in Parksville on Saturday, they hit a jackpot of green gold.
Oceanside RCMP Sergeant Darrell Robertson said members of the Oceanside RCMP were joined by others from the Island District Drug Section as they executed a search warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
What they found was a sophisticated marijuana grow operation with approximately 185 large plants.
Robertson said there were no arrests made in the bust and no charges have been laid as yet.
“The place was not attended when we went there and did the search,” he said.
The RCMP are continuing their investigation into the matter.
