Teen facing charges in Nanoose Bay road crash

PARKSVILLE — An 18-year-old woman from Parksville is facing a charge of failure to yield after a two-car collision March 9 that sent three people to hospital with minor injuries.

RCMP Corporal Jesse Foreman said the crash took place at 10 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 19 and Northwest Bay Road when a 72-year-old woman from Parksville was driving north on Highway 19 through the Northwest Bay Road intersection in a Ford Escape and the young woman driving a Geo Metro turned left off the highway onto Northwest Bay Road.

The driver of the Geo and the driver and a passenger of the Ford Escape were taken by ambulance to Nanaimo Regional General Hospital with minor to moderate injuries.
