Parksville city changes staffing structure
With the elimination of the position of director of engineering and operations, Parksville city council amended their officers bylaw and appointed two incumbents as new directors.
After several years of struggling to fill and keep the combined director position filled, the structure was shifted after the departure of Robert Harary in June.
Manager of operations Alan Metcalf, who has been with the city since 2004, was appointed director of operations.
Vaughn Figueira, hired as manager of engineering in Dec. 2010 was appointed director of engineering.
Both men were appointed as officers of the corporation at Wednesday’s regular council meeting.
