Bowser-Deep Bay parks discussion coming

Bill Veenhof, the Regional District of Nanaimo director for Deep Bay-Bowser, says he is hoping for a strong turnout when the RDN holds an open house to discuss its work on a community parks and trails strategy (CPTS) for Electoral Area H.

"This represents an opportunity for you to have a voice in our local community parks," he said.

Dave Palidwor, the superintendent of parks planning and development, will be hosting the event, slated for Wed., Feb. 27, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Lighthouse Community centre.

"Community parks and trails are different than Regional parks and trails," Palidwor said. "Community parks and trails primarily serve the local neighborhood and community residents, while the Regional parks and trails serve residents from the entire region and beyond."
