Open house Monday at Pheasant Glen Golf Resort

Residents of Qualicum Beach have been invited to provide some input on an exciting plan for the expansion of amenities at Pheasant Glen Golf Resort.

The Dutton Family, owners of Pheasant Glen, say they are inviting the public to the course (1025 Qualicum Rd.) so they can share their concepts for housing and amenities with the community, and to get some feedback from residents.

Pheasant Glen will host two separate open houses on Monday, the first from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and the second from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

A survey conducted in March of 2011 by national research firm Stratcom (Strategic Communications) revealed that 68 per cent of Qualicum Beach residents supported zoning changes to clear the way for a mixed residential resort development at Pheasant Glen.

Pheasant Glen also announced this week is has been chosen to host the 2016 B.C. Men's Amateur Championship.

“We are very excited to again be the host of this championship amateur golf tournament,” said General Manager and CPGA member Gord Melissa. “This will be our fourth amateur championship since 2006, three provincial and one Canadian,” he added.

“We are hoping to have the new clubhouse ready by the championship in July, 2016,” said VP Craig Dutton.
