Christmas decorations stolen from yard in French Creek
Oceanside RCMP say a resident of Arrowsmith Way in French Creek called Dec. 11 to report that all his family's outdoor Christmas decorations had been stolen from his yard. The intricate display included a large snowman, lights and multiple, fully-lit artificial trees.
Police say it would appear that the suspect(s) likely used a vehicle as there was a large quantity of items taken.
"This kind of theft is really disappointing and needless," said Oceanside RCMP Cpl. Jesse Foreman. "Unfortunately, it takes away from the spirit of the holidays and will put people with similar displays on edge."
Police are asking if anyone has information about this crime, to contact the Oceanside RCMP, 250-248-6111.
• On Dec. 2, police say home owners discovered their residence on Grafton Road in Errington had been broken into while they were at work. Police say the suspects forced their way through the front door of the residence and made away with several paint ball guns, personal items and three firearms. The firearms are described as a .22 Calibre "AR Style" Rifle, and two SKS Rifles with bayonettes.
RCMP say they would like to remind the public to keep diligent with securing their property and to report suspicious persons or activities to police.
Oceanside RCMP say they are also seeking the assistance of the public in solving this crime. Police say if anyone saw anything suspicious in the area on Dec. 2 or have any information, to call Cst. Monika Terragni at 250-248-6111 or Crimestoppers 1-800-222-8477.
