Three men injured in 'suspicious' fire near Qualicum Beach

The following is an unedited news release issued by the Oceanside RCMP on Tuesday morning (see Thursday's edition of The NEWS for more on this story):

On March 10th at 1:45 p.m., The Oceanside RCMP Detachment was called to assist the Dashwood Fire Department with a residential structure (house) fire at the 1700 block of Nahmint Road in North Qualicum Beach.

Three male occupants were severely injured as a result of the fire, with two of them being air lifted to Hospital from the scene.

As the fire appears suspicious, the area has been secured so Fire Department and RCMP Fire Investigators can work to determine the cause of the fire.
