Island Corridor Foundation calls news conference for Wednesday

Island Corridor Foundation CEO Graham Bruce has scheduled a news conference for Wednesday in Nanaimo to "announce the future of passenger rail service on Vancouver Island."

Bruce sent the notice to media on Monday. The news conference is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. tomorrow at the Nanaimo train station on Selby Street in Nanaimo. The news conference comes on the heels of a notice of motion filed by Parksville city Coun. Marc Levebvre at the most recent Regional District of Nanaimo board meeting that stated the "RDN board has lost confidence in the existing administrative function of the ICF" and a "task force of experienced individuals" should be formed to "assist in reinvigorating the ICF."     — NEWS Staff
