Winefest packs Qualicum Beach Civic Centre

WINEFEST: Hundreds of people packed the Qualicum Beach Civic Centre on Saturday night for the Rotary Club of Qualicum Beach’s 12th annual Wine Festival. While wines of all colours, blends and grape varieties were front and centre, the food offerings were also a big hit, including shucked-in-front-of-you oysters from two companies, Stellar Bay Shellfish and Fanny Bay Oysters. Another attraction of the evening was the hard work of Chief Darryl Kohse and members of the Qualicum Beach Volunteer Fire Department, who stayed on their feet the entire evening offering appetizers. Above, Regional District of Nanaimo board of directors chairman Joe Stanhope gets a snack from volunteer firefighter Nancy Marshall.
