The ultimate ladies' night, the third annual What Women Want trade show, took place Friday night at the Parksville Community and Conference Centre.

To get the gals warmed up, a jazz group from VIU performed on stage while guests mingled checking out the more than 50 vendors giving out samples and complimentary beauty treatments.

Female country music trio Moonshine Mollys got the party started with some toe tapping tunes.

The band which includes three talented musicians from Vancouver Island was a crowd pleaser performing a mix of originals and classic cover tunes from some of country’s most beloved female stars.

Up next was the much anticipated fashion show with models of all shapes and sizes presenting some of the hottest styles from Lady’s Mantle, Close to You, Mercedes Lane, Mystic Lotus and Jockey Wear.

Belly dance instructor Elaine De Rooy was up next and delivered all the right moves as she shimmied and shook her way down the runway to Lady Gaga’s Born This Way.

Her moves were so impressive a few ladies from the audience joined her on stage for the next routine.

The owner of Belly Laughs said she focuses on fitness and fun when she teaches the art of belly dancing in her Qualicum Beach home studio

De Rooy is also available for home belly dance demos and instruction and even provides the cute coin belts for her students.

The night out with friends that also included shopping and sipping spirits wrapped up with the grand prize draw of a weekend get-away sponsored by the Beach Club Resort in Parksville.

Harris Oceanside Chevrolet provided safe rides home for the cocktail crowd.
