Qualicum Beach grad fashions take centre stage

Raising more than $5,000 towards an exciting and safe dry grad, students, parents and supporters put on a successful 2014 Kwalikum Secondary Grad Fashion Show recently at the Civic Centre.

With 52 students modelling 113 outfits from stores throughout the Parksville Qualicum Beach area, the event included live and silent auctions, door prizes, games and refreshments all put together as one of the grad's biggest fundraisers of the year.

Along with the latest local fashions, as has become a tradition, they will also feature one prom dress made by a Grade 11 student who is graduating early, and formal wear from the SOS Grad Ware program.

The SOS offers complete ensembles, including accessories, for $5 each, and recently received a donation of 60 new dresses, some of which the SOS says still have tags.
