First night for new farmers' market is Friday in Parksville

Parksville now has a farmers' market.The new market will be set up at the Parksville Museum and Archives in Craig Heritage Park on Fridays from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and runs from July 11 to Sept. 26.

There will be a variety of vendors at the market selling food, plants and art, and there will be live demonstrations, including blacksmith sculpting demos by Dave Kasprick at Red Cod Forge.

Nanoose Edibles will be there selling fresh vegetables and fruits, Whole Hog Farm will have its sausages, Happy Trout Lodge will have its fish products and Fabulous Focaccia will have breads, vinegars and chutneys.

The museum buildings will also be open for people to browse while at the market.

If any farmers are interested in participating they can fill out an application at www.arbutusevents.ca.
