Thousands of people packed Parksville Community Park for Kidfest on Sunday under hot and sunny skies. There were countless opportunities for children to play on an array of bouncy apparatus, things to touch and craft, and food to sample. It was also an opportunity to hand out prizes for the winning sandcastles in the children's category of the Quality Foods Canadian Professional Sandcastle Competition and Exhibition.
