Fallen tree knocks out power in Parksville

Power to more than 2,500 patrons quickly restored in Friday incident

A tree that fell across a power line Friday knocked out power to more than 2,500 customers in the Parksville area, BC Hydro reported May 5.

BC Hydro crews were called to the site Parksville to investigate and repair the damage. The BC Hydro website reported crews on-scene as of 3:30 p.m., and power was restored by 4:40 p.m.

The affected area was north of Smithers Road, which went dark after the tree downed the line.
