Candidates for the Mid Island-Pacific Rim riding in the upcoming election will gather in an all-candidates meeting Thursday, May, 4, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Lighthouse Community Center. Doors open at 6:00 pm, and the meeting is expected to run from 6:30-8 p.m.

The meeting, for candidates representing North Qualicum, Qualicum Bay, Bowser, Deep Bay, Errington and Coombs, is hosted by the Mount Arrowsmith Teachers’ Association.

B.C. NDP incumbent Scott Fraser and B.C. Green Party candidate Alicia LaRue have confirmed their attendance, though B.C. Liberal candidate Darren DeLuca is not likely to attend due to a prior commitment. Three additional candidates for the riding — Julian Fell (B.C. Conservative), Dan Cebuliak (Refederation) and Robert Clarke (B.C. Libertarian) will be invited, said Debbie Comer, MATA vice president.

Community members will have the opportunity to submit written questions for the candidates.

Lighthouse Community Centre is located at 240 Lions Way in Qualicum Bay.
