Parksville council to discuss amendments to 5-year financial plan

Discussion set for Dec. 5 regular council meeting

Parksville council will discuss proposed amendments to the city’s 2022-2026 financial plan at the regular council meeting on Dec. 5.

The public is welcome to attend the meeting and an open question period will begin at 5:45 p.m., with the meeting to start at 6 p.m., according to a news release by the City of Parksville. A signup sheet will be available at the meeting.

The meeting may also be viewed online through livestreaming from the city’s website and the video will be archived.

“Public input is an important part of the financial planning process,” the release read. “Comments may be submitted by email to council@parksville.ca and will form part of the public record.”

To be included in the meeting, comments must be received by noon on Dec. 5, according to the city.

For information, the city’s financial plans are available to view on the website.

At the Dec. 5 presentation, city staff will outline proposed changes to the current financial plan.

The city’s financial planning process for the 2023-2027 five-year financial plan will begin in early 2023 and the public will be notified of the meeting schedule.
