Shelly Road access closed Nov. 7 and 9 for construction

On Wednesday, Nov. 7 and Friday, Nov. 9, access to Shelly Road will be temporarily closed starting at 7:30 a.m.

Temporary access restrictions to and from Highway 19A to Shelly Road is required to allow the contractor to install large concrete traffic signal bases for the new traffic signals at Shelley Road and Highway 19A.

Traffic will be able to detour via Mills Street and Pioneer Crescent on Nov. 7 and via Mills Street and Stanford Avenue on Nov. 9.

Traffic management signage and personnel will be located to assist motorists through the construction zone.

The City of Parksville apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause; however, they say the closure is necessary to ensure the safety of workers and the public.
