Oceanside RCMP are reporting what they believe to be a drive-by shooting in Parksville.

A news release from police states that, a little after 3 a.m. on Wednesday, April 5, Oceanside RCMP received a call from residents of the 500 block of Martindale Road reporting they’d heard three gunshots.

Police attended the scene and found two abandoned vehicles on a particular property had been hit by shotgun rounds “in an apparent drive-by shooting.”

“The property in which the vehicles were parked is well known to police for property crime and drug-related offences,” the release stated.

Police reported no injuries as a result of the gunfire, “and it appears the abandoned vehicles were the intended target.”

RCMP forensic specialists and other members of the Oceanside RCMP are investigating, but ask that anyone with information about this crime call the Oceanside RCMP at 250-248-6111 or make an anonymous report by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
