Pursuant to Section 464(2) and 467(2) of the Local Government Act, the Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) advises that a Public Hearing is not being held for proposed “Regional District of Nanaimo Land Use and Subdivision Amendment Bylaw No. 500.439, 2023” (Bylaw 500.439). A Public Hearing is not required because an Official Community Plan applies to the area that is subject to Bylaw 500.439 and the RDN Board considers Bylaw 500.439 to be consistent with “Regional District of Nanaimo Electoral Area ‘H’ Official Community Plan Bylaw No. 1335, 2017”.

PURPOSE OF PROPOSED BYLAW

The purpose of Bylaw 500.439 is to rezone the subject property from Rural 1 (RU1), Subdivision District ‘CC’ (4.0-hectare minimum parcel size) to Rural 6 (RU6) zone, Subdivision District ‘D’, (2.0-hectare minimum parcel size) to facilitate a two-lot subdivision.
