Alfons passed away at the age of 73 years in Nanaimo, at Nanaimo General Hospital’s Palliative Care on June 3, 2005, after a long battle with cancer. Alfons will be lovingly remembered by his wife Edith, four daughters and their husbands; Angelika and Dietmar, Martina and Kurt, Cordula and Heidrun, 9 grandchildren, 3 brothers and their wives; Valentin and Renate, Hermann and Erika, Friedrich and Christel and one sister Hildegard, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
