March 22, 1931 ~ May 7, 2009

With sadness we announce the death of Allan Cook of Parksville, B.C. on Thursday, May 7, 2009, surrounded by family. Beloved husband of Lola for 52 years. Al was born in Winnipeg, Man. on March 22, 1931, second of four siblings, and spent formative years in the farming area of Dugald, Man. He graduated from George Williams College, Chicago, in training for the professional YMCA. He held positions in the “Y” in Vancouver, Toronto & Montreal then returned to Vancouver and held positions in the Federal Gov’t. After early retirement he worked with First Memorial Funeral Services for a number of years. In retirement Al and Lola moved to Parksville, Vancouver Island and enjoyed 12 years in various activities with many friends. Al leaves a loving family; son Bruce (Laurel) of Los Angeles; daughter Nancy Marshall (Don) of Qualicum Beach; son Andrew (Patti) of North Vancouver; and 7 grandchildren – Steven (Stephanie); Andrea (Matt); David; Brandon; Nicholas; Deacon and Jackson.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday,

May 12th, 2:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Anglican Church, 2600 Powder Point Road, Nanoose Bay

with Rev. Ron Macluskie officiating.

First Memorial Funeral Services in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nanaimo Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
