BENNETT, Anthony
Harris (Tony)
Entered the gates of Heaven January 22, 2005 when he
died peacefully at home.
Tony is survived by his devoted wife of 32 years, Marilyn; his loving sons Paul and Tyler of whom he was always so proud; his mother
Olive Bennett (Bristol, England), and his sister Hazel Sumner (Bristol, England). Tony was predeceased by his infant children Timothy
Robin and Elizabeth Marie in 1980, and his father Stanley in 1999.
Tony was a true gentleman and a perfectionist in all that he did. He loved symphony music, especially when featuring violin soloists. He
enjoyed working at creating “surprises” for Marilyn with building projects, supported his wife and sons in all of their activities and relaxed
by taking his dogs for long walks where he met many wonderful other dog walkers. His passion was being on the water and was planning to
take kayak lessons this year. Tony had enjoyed skiing, motorbiking, boating and model building and was an original “home reno” man with
a special touch. He always had time to stop at new dining places, whether a tea room or a new restaurant.
Tony worked the past 15 years as the Service Manager at Isle Golf Cars (Parksville) and enjoyed the many pleasures of residing in
Oceanside. He had hoped to be an active volunteer in his retirement days but that opportunity was taken away by sudden cancer. The
family was so very grateful for the special personal care from his physician Dr. R. Maccari, and to the Home Care Palliative Staff. Thank
you for being so kind and compassionate.
A memorial service for all wanting to pay tribute to Tony will be held Saturday, January 29
at 1:00 p.m., Parksville Fellowship Baptist Church, 550 Pym St., Parksville.
Pastor Gordon Reeves officiating.
Flowers are gratefully declined. Marilyn prefers to see them growing in the garden. If you wish to make a donation in Tony’s name, he
